WOMEN'S PATTERN

Motivo Donna is a project launched in 2021 to start a women-led social enterprise in Italy. The initiative aims to promote women's empowerment by creating job opportunities for women.

The initiative was conceived by the social enterprise Guri I Zi together with Fondazione Snam. The aim is to test a replicable social enterprise model in Italy for inclusive and equal social growth.

The project was also made possible thanks to the collaboration of Snam employees who volunteered their time and expertise.

Motivo Donna products are made by a group of women identified with the help of ActionAid and Cadmi Milano. Following technical training provided by textile designers Livia Crispolti and Gisella Cappelli, the three women now work in a textile and tailoring workshop in Snam's premises in San Donato Milanese.

Motivo Donna fabrics are entirely handwoven on eight-shaft wooden floor looms using natural Italian yarns. The collection was designed by textile designer Livia Crispolti, a lecturer at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, who combines tradition, innovation, and creativity.
